This project gave us the goal of recreating the classic Jack and Jill story with limited parameters. We had to recreate the lines as so.
1. Jack and Jill
2. Went up the hill
3. To fetch a pail of water
4. Jack fell down
5. And broke his crown
6. And Jill came tumbling after.
I was very dedicated to doing something creative and reinventing the story. I started with deciding on using Jack and Jill figures to represent a father and daughter. That "father" icon looks to be doing some sort of activity, so that led me to the idea of going on a hike to a lake. After looking over my options, I became enthralled with the idea of an elephant being a part of the story and much of my brainstorming was around that idea. My first step in actually drafting the project was importing the graphics sheet into Illustrator and separating the icons, which made it much easier to play around with and decide what I might want to do. I think I made creative use of a lot of the icons -- see if you can spot the chipmunk/beaver/rodent creature. I then tried to organize everything best I could to try and tell a unique story.
